Phillip Bond Sartain

1958–2020

Phillip Bond Sartain was a partner with Sartain Law Offices from 1986 until his retirement in 2016. He is a graduate of Emory University, and the University of Georgia School of Law. 


Phillip was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1986, and he specialized in Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability law. Early in his career, Phillip practiced in the defense of Workers' Compensation claims on behalf of Georgia employers. Later in his career, he represented claimants. Phillip spent 20 years helping claimants in workers' compensation and more than 25 years praticing Social Security Disability.


Phillip is a retired member of the State Bar of Georgia, Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association, the Workers' Compensation Section of the Section of the State Bar of Georgia. His court admissions included the Northern and Middle Georgia United States District Courts.


With a passion for community, Phillip actively served Hall County through his involvement with numerous charitable and civic organizations, including the Red Cross, the Gainesville Symphony, United Way, the Boys & Girls Club of Hall County, the Georgia Mountain Food Bank, the Arts Council (past President), and as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 2003 Flatwater Canoe/Kayak World Championships held on Lake Lanier. 


Phillip is survived by Lydia J. Sartain, former District Attorney for Hall and Dawson Counties, and their three daughters.
